OHS Theatre Sports teams have had a pleasing start to the 2025 season competitions.
Theatre sports is a fast-paced, improvised form of drama where teams compete in a series of games that test their creativity, quick thinking, and performance skills. It combines elements of theatre and sport, with teams scored by judges or the audience based on their wit, timing, and storytelling.
The OHS Theatre Sports teams had their first competition of the year in a buddy match against Saint Kentigern College on Wednesday night. Nine teams competed, each performing one blind round game and two choice round games.
OHS fielded two teams: Team One included Emerson Rockwell and Elise Woodward, both Year 13, along with newcomer Stella Mahy from Year 11. Team Two was made up of Reese Kilpatrick and Leo Kelly, both in Year 12, and Ruby Walsh from Year 11. The competition from Saint Kent’s was strong, but the OHS teams rose to the challenge, with Team One making it to the final round. They delivered an outstanding three-minute scene and were rewarded with first place.
