The Enviroclub has thoughtfully planned every aspect of the eco-friendly gardens now taking root at OHS.
Five planter boxes have been generously built and donated to the school by keen gardener Ms. Riya Prasad and her husband.
To support healthy growth, compost from Royal Oak Intermediate (ROI) is being used for the initial planting of herbs, potatoes, silverbeet, lettuce, garlic, and geraniums. OHS students have collaborated with ROI students to maintain their food scrap composting system, helping to reduce waste going to landfill.
Looking ahead, the vision is to create a ‘garden to plate’ journey, with the Food and Hospitality department incorporating organically grown produce into their cooking.
Congratulations to the dedicated Enviroclub members whose hard work has brought this green initiative to life!
