Mr. Greg Fleming MP for Maungakiekie, spoke at the Year 13 assembly today, encouraging interested students living in Maungakiekie to apply for the Youth Parliament.

Youth Parliament is held every 3 years and is a unique opportunity for students to learn about our democracy and law-making. They become ambassadors for young people, ensuring youth have a voice and can influence government decision-making.

Current MPs select Youth MPs and work alongside them as they carry out their duties. The laws passed by the government affect us all. If you have issues you would like the government to consider, or if you are interested in the process of government, you should consider applying for this prestigious position. 

Interested Year 13 students should visit the Youth Development website. Applications close on the 28th of February at noon.
