Year 9 students enjoyed a fun-filled, rich, and varied programme of activities last week.
The school was alive with students racing to complete the ‘Amazing Race’, which required them to cooperate in their classes, as they vied to be the first to complete all 7 set tasks. Along the journey, they needed to learn more about each other, whether it was finding out everybody's birth date or learning greetings in as many languages as possible. There were puzzles to solve and facts to uncover if they were to prevail.
Students completed an inquiry that had them discover the meanings behind cultural patterns and designs before they sketched designs significant to them. As always the cultural performances were very well received by students who enthusiastically supported their peers.
A great spirit of camaraderie and competition was evident at the sports day and other activities. Students were learning important life skills without even realising it.
The programme would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of Year 9 Dean Ms. Sarah Wang and a team of creative teachers.
