“Awesome”, “Incredible”, “I want to go straight back!”, are just some of the comments from students returning from Year 10 Camp, held at Mangawhai.
They are exhausted and exhilarated in equal measure. They have pushed themselves out of their comfort zones to achieve things they did not imagine they could. They have learned new skills and made wonderful new friendships. Whether it was learning life-saving skills, survivor skills, building rafts, completing problem-solving challenges, or learning to cook on a campfire, the students approached each new activity with enthusiasm and camaraderie. They have been supportive of each other and respectful of boundaries. Their teachers are very tired and very, very proud of them.
Huge thanks to Ms.Alex Eastwood who worked incredibly hard to make this experience the success it was and to the teachers who have been away at camp.
