Adventurous Journey

Adventurous Journey

Last weekend 12 students had an amazing time and completed their Adventurous Journey as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award.

Adventurous Journey

Starting at the Whatipu Campground in the Waitakeres, they navigated their way along the Gibbons Track to the Muir Track before descending to the Pararaha valley campground. There they set up tents and camped overnight before returning to Whatipu campground along the beach.

Students were responsible for every aspect of the tramp and were not allowed input from their teachers. They set up camp, carried and prepared all their food, read maps, and navigated the route. The teachers in charge, Mrs Kate Crews and Mr Mark Loveridge were incredibly proud of the students who accomplished the tramp and commended them for their teamwork, resilience, and positive attitudes throughout the journey.
