A group of OHS Year 12 potential leaders joined students from six other schools for the Leadership Diversity Day at the Te Noho Kotahitanga Marae at Unitech last week.
Students spent the day looking at leadership through the lens of different religions. They discussed how Māori spirituality, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism and Christianity all share values in common. These values include the importance of peace, justice, compassion and stewardship of the environment. They concluded that good leaders recognise and have a moral code encompassing these values. They recognise that we are all in this together and must work together to ensure the best possible outcome for everyone in society.
