We have enjoyed celebrating Tongan Language Week this week. The Tongan students' have brought energy and enthusiasm to the school in all of the activities they have organised.
We have learned some new Tongan phrases to use, enjoyed some great food and drink and we have been privileged to watch some superb dances. The girls’ performances are graceful and somehow calming. The males in contrast are full of energy, power and forceful choreography. Both movements tell a story, reflecting pride in the culture, which was wonderful to watch.
Students proudly wore Tupenu, Ta’ovala and Kahoa bringing colour and in some cases glamour to the playground.
A very successful week. Malo to everyone involved especially, Mrs Lute Langi, Ms. Luse Lousi and the Cultural Committee.
