The OHS Girls Rugby 10s played in the final on Monday against a powerful Otahuhu team and won 20-19!
The hopes and dreams of the players rested on the outcome of this tightly contested game. With 8 minutes left on the clock, Otahuhu was ahead 19-10. If you hadn’t been watching these young women, you may have felt the game had gotten away from us. We knew better. These players stayed focused, composed and disciplined. They didn’t give away a penalty, kept driving forward and worked as a team to score the tries they needed to snatch victory. As always the team was gracious and humble, after their initial euphoria. As the score would indicate, Oahuhu was no less deserving. They too played in the spirit of the game.
The OHS Girls 10s are the 2024 champions! They are an exceptionally well-coached team. Thank you Mr.Willie Marsters, for sharing your knowledge, your time and your wisdom. It will be exciting to see where these young players go from here!
Congratulations:
