Sisters United- Dream Girl Conference.

Sisters United- Dream Girl Conference.

Twenty Year 12 and 13 Pasifika students were fortunate to attend the Sisters United, Dream Girl Conference. The conference aims to build self-confidence and develop life skills to empower students to chase their dreams.

Our students joined over 300 young women from 20 different schools to attend educational and creative workshops and hear from inspirational guest speakers, sisters Theresa and Sulu Fitzpatrick. Sulu is a New Zealand netball international and Theresa is a New Zealand rugby player. Both women represented NZ at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Theresa had just returned from the Olympic games. A highlight was listening to their stories about the importance of resilience in success and of leading through service.  Our students were thrilled to be able to hold Theresa’s Gold medal from the Olympic Games.

Students found the day inspirational and returned to school knowing that with determination and effort, they too, could achieve their dreams.
