Internships Enlighten Students'.

Eight Year 13 students’ from Auckland were selected to participate in the Icebase 360 programme which paired young students with companies to enable them to get real life experience in areas of interest to them. Three of these students came from OHS! All three received paid work internships.

Congratulations Lavigne Williams, Rylee Williams and Vincent Forman who were chosen to participate. Both Rylee and Lavigne are considering law as career options. They were given paid work internships, in the holidays at law firm, Minter Ellison Rudd Watts. Vincent went to IT consultancy Theta.

All three students’ thoroughly enjoyed the work experience which they found invaluable. It was an opportunity for them to get a rare insight into the reality of the careers they are considering. Vincent commented, “getting to experience what an office based job actually entailed was definitely an eye opener.”

Organisers received fantastic feedback on all three students from their assigned companies, who were impressed with the efforts of the students.

Thanks to Sai Tuikolovatu, from ICE and Mrs Shaw for organising these opportunities.
