This year, the OHS Level 2 and 3 Drama students presented the play 'Little Women’.
Based on the cherished novel by Louisa May Alcott, Little Women tells the story of the four March Girls - sensible Meg, headstrong Jo, quiet Beth and lively Amy, as they grow to adulthood in Civil War- era New England.
Director and Head of Performing Arts, Ms. Abbie Parsons, delivered a production worthy of a professional theatre.
Everyone of the actors and backstage crew did a wonderful job. There were some truly memorable performances from students, some of whom were on stage for well over two hours. A production on this scale relies on a large contingent of not only actors, but people for hair and makeup, a stage manager, back-stage crew, sound and lighting technicians, people to look after props, the set and costumes. Without these people our young actors can’t shine. Huge congratulations to everyone involved!
This was an opportunity for our students to experience what it is like to be involved in professional theatre and you can’t help feeling, some of them may well go on to work in the industry.
Thank you to the Dolphin Theatre for allowing us to hire the props, set and costumes for the production.
Congratulations Ms Parsons!
