Year 9 Tongan Leadership.

Year 9 Tongan Leadership.

Congratulations to the Year 9 students chosen to participate in the Fakatoukatea Leadership programme run by alumna Anahila Kanongata’a and Sepa Hausia-Schaumkel.

The programme is in its tenth year and many of our school leaders have been graduates of the programme.

Students consider what it means to be Tongan. They consider the philosophy of Faka’apa’apa that guides Tongan life. We are so fortunate to have successful Tongan alumni who give up their time to come to speak to students, to be role models and to inspire them to achieve as they have done. Students are encouraged to take the lead when guest speakers come to address them, chairing the sessions and learning the correct protocol for these occasions.

The school is very grateful for the support of our Tongan alumni.
