The Pasifika Komiti, which is made up of Pasifika parents, Board members, students, leaders and teachers, met this week to confirm their vision and continue action projects. The group analysed case studies from other schools, that have achieved the outcomes we are seeking and this knowledge contributed to the brain storming of the komiti’s vision. The komiti has a strong focus on raising Pasifika achievement at OHS, whilst strengthening Pasifika culture and identity.

The komiti planned further initiatives for 2024, including their contribution to language weeks, an inaugural end-of-year Pasifika awards evening and ideas for community service. It was a successful fono filled with positive, engaging conversations and plans, for Samoan Language Week in Week 5, along with many more exciting ideas to support the Pasifika students of OHS.
