OHS Head Prefects, Magdalene Ieremia-Apelu, Cameron Ross, Aria Van Dolleweerd and Roy Ah Lamb attended a Leadership Forum hosted by Epsom Girls Grammar School on Monday.

More than 50 Prefects from Auckland schools gathered to hone their communication skills, network and share experiences.

There were two guest speakers, Chloe Swarbrick (co leader of the Green Party) and Tim Wilson (CEO of Maxim Institute), both of whom spoke on how to argue your position respectfully and how to get opposing parties to see your view. The prefects then tried the techniques discussed with some quick-fire debating.

 Students thoroughly enjoyed meeting up with old friends and making new ones. They returned to school confident of the value of the skills they had learnt.
