OHS Kapa Haka Rōpū Wow Crowd!

OHS Kapa Haka Rōpū Wow Crowd!

OHS kapa haka rōpū, wowed the crowd with an outstanding performance at Polyest

On Friday at Polyfest, Te Rito, our OHS kapa haka rōpū, wowed the crowd with an outstanding performance.

There were seven items in total; each item a proud display of mana Māori. Preparation for the competition focused on perfecting movements with hours spent in the dance studio and in the school hall; each member of the rōpū focused on micro movements and synchronisation.

Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari e toa takitini - our success is not the work of one, but the work or many. A big thank you to our tutors, Santana Maxwell and Blair Nathan who tutored our rōpū, and we cannot forget our whānau who came in and organised the kai and cooked nutritious meals to sustain us.
