Lisa Hellyer won the Silver Medal in the U18 Women’s 800m Final at the National Track and Field Championships in Wellington on Friday.

Racing with sister Sarah, the twins set the pace early on, leading the field and in a truly exciting finish, Lisa was beaten in the last few strides, by Holly Fausett from the Bay of Plenty who had to run a very fast PB to beat Lisa.

A fantastic race. Congratulations Lisa on your Silver medal! Sarah,who helped set the pace, ran an excellent race finishing 4th. Well done Sarah.
