We are pleased to announce that Jake Shearer, a Year 13 student, has been selected to participate in an exclusive programme at Canterbury University. Jake was one of over 200 applicants from across the nation, and we are delighted to inform you that he is among the 20 successful candidates chosen for this prestigious opportunity.

The programme, hosted at Canterbury University on the 14th to 19th April, is a unique blend of seminars and hands-on practical work. Participants, including Jake, will have the extraordinary opportunity to travel to UC's Mt John Observatory in Tekapo. There, they will explore the cosmic neighborhood using state-of-the-art astronomical instruments, gaining valuable insights into the world of astronomy.

It is worth noting that this trip is fully funded, and it is specifically designed for students who have a keen interest in pursuing further studies in Astronomy or Physics at the university level.

This achievement speaks volumes about Jake's dedication and passion for Science, and we are incredibly proud of his accomplishment. We believe that this experience will not only enrich his academic journey but also inspire him to pursue his aspirations in the field of Astronomy or Physics.
