Inspiring Spoken Word Workshop

Inspiring Spoken Word Workshop

Spoken Word at the National Youth Poetry Conference, Word Summit

OHS students Taylah Stewart, Lile-Rose Sinisa, Asher McCarten, Nafisa Bulale, Kara Belk, Tali Feu’u, Dennis Mailangi, Riya Chettiar, joined over 90 other rangatahi from across Aotearoa in Action Education’s National Youth Poetry Conference, Word Summit.

Students were involved in amazing workshops with some incredible facilitators including Stevie David-Tana, Melodownz, Daisy Lavea-Timo and Bailey Wiley. It was an awesome day where students got to share their own personal truths. They thought, they wrote, they laughed, they were brave, confident, and even signed up for the open mic at the end to share their pieces to the whole group. Ms Sarah Cotton who takes this group was immensely proud of these inspiring young people.
