All the Very Best Mr Coombes!

All the Very Best Mr Coombes!

Director of Sport Mr Chad Coombes will be missed by the OHS whānau when he leaves us this week.

Mr Coombes has been at OHS for twelve years and has had a huge impact on our school.  A talented footballer and coach Mr Coombes has been instrumental in the development of football in the school. Perhaps his greatest legacy will be the JETS (Junior Emerging Talent Squads) programme, which has seen our most talented sports people nurtured and developed and both participation rates and results improve markedly.

His organisational skills are admirable. His care, energy and enthusiasm for our rangatahi is boundless. The fundraising golf day he runs each year has become a ‘must do’ for many supporters of our school.

Chad, we will miss the energy and positivity you bring to all of us.

Mr Coombes is going to work five minutes from home at Liston College, where he will be Head of Football, a role close to his heart.

We wish Mr Coombes all the very best for the future.
